Doors were boarded up tightly and some showed signs of painted symbols with meanings known only to those who put them there, but whoever put them there’s long gone too. Clothing, home appliances and other belongings were left lost and broken outside some of the homes. They were of no use to anyone anymore.
Far Water , once a pleasant quiet town and home to friendly folk was now partially reclaimed by nature. The sounds of insects, winds and creaking wood of trees which were once drowned out by the sounds of cars and people had returned as the dominant sounds once more.
The future looked bright to the students of this town. The school was part of their every day. Jokes were told and laughs were had, but now there was only silence and forgotten memories.
Despite the decay of the buildings there was a certain charm about the town. Everything was greener as nature grew wild and the quiet during the day was almost peaceful. But even though many buildings had found a new purpose there was just no way this town’s former self could ever be restored.
Most doors were either completely gone or mere remnants of rotten wood and rusty metal. The open doorways looked eerie as only darkness showed within. Broken roof tiles lay in the streets and gardens and crusty, dry paint faded from walls and fences.
Crossroads, once a hub of modern housing and technological developments was now but an eerie shell of its former self. The many voices of a once bustling community were replaced with the many voices of wild animals and stray pets that had made this town their new home.
The art gallery was once the cultural pride and joy of this town and tourists flocked to see the art displayed here. Now it was home to a flock of doves who’ve destroyed most art pieces in their ignorance of what it once meant to so many people.
