The most well-known phytocannabinoids present in cannabis plants are tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD).
As a result, you may be shocked to hear that hemp plants do not synthesize substantial amounts of these cannabinoids.
Cannabidiolic acid (CBDA) is found in higher concentrations in unprocessed industrial hemp than cannabidiol. With more attention being paid to some of the many lesser-known cannabinoids contained in industrial hemp, many people have been wondering about the effects of CBDA and its possible natural advantages.
Cannabidiolic Acid (CBDA): What Is It?
CBDA is found largely in raw, untreated industrial hemp and cannabis strains high in CBD. CBDA Isolate For Sale is a carboxylic acid with one carbon, one hydrogen, and two oxygen atoms in its carboxyl group.
Heat causes a process known as decarboxylation, which transforms the carboxylic acid into carbon dioxide and hydrogen, which is the chemical composition of CBD.
Simply described, CBDA is the acidic form of CBD, or its precursor, just as tetrahydrocannabinol acid (THCA) is the precursor of THC.
What Are the Advantages of CBDA Bulk?
The majority of the data supporting the therapeutic potential of cannabidiol acid (CBDA Bulk) is based on preclinical, non-human trials, similar to the research studying the medicinal potential of CBD, THC, and other cannabinoids found naturally in hemp.
However, based on early research, at least two patents have been submitted. One of the two patents filed by GW Pharmaceuticals is for the use of CBDA Bulk to treat inflammatory skin illnesses, while the other is for the use of CBDA and other cannabinoids to treat chronic sickness.
While current research indicates that CBDA Bulk is significantly less stable than CBD, preliminary studies indicate that CBDA is the more potent of the two cannabinoids.
The following are some of the many health concerns that current research reveals may benefit from CBDA’s medicinal potential. Although much more research is required, the first results are encouraging.
CBDA Bulk Can Help With Nausea and Vomiting
CBD is well known for its ability to alleviate and suppress nausea and vomiting, which current research believes is accomplished through the cannabinoid’s indirect stimulation of the 5-HT1A serotonin receptors.
CBDA Bulk has been demonstrated to activate the 5-HT1A receptors in a similar manner to THC, but the effects appear to be more intense.
This conclusion is based on the findings of an animal study that looked at the effects of CBD and CBDA. Researchers discovered cannabidiolic acid to be particularly helpful at reducing motion and toxin-induced vomiting in a study published in the British Journal of Pharmacology.
CBDA Bulk was also found to be effective in managing the symptoms of treatment-resistant anticipatory nausea, a syndrome that frequently occurs after chemotherapy treatment.
In fact, CBDA was discovered to be more effective than CBD at controlling nausea and vomiting!
The researchers concluded, “Compared to cannabidiol, CBDA demonstrates much more effective at inhibiting vomiting in shrews and nausea in rats, as well as enhancing 5-HT1A receptor activation.” For nausea and vomiting, the cannabinoid appears to be more potent before decarboxylation, i.e. before it is heatedly transformed to CBD.
CBDA Bulk as an Anti-Inflammatory Agent
CBDA and CBD both function by interacting with receptors of the endocannabinoid system (ECS), the body’s biggest regulatory mechanism. While both cannabinoids have an effect on major cannabinoid receptors, CBDA and CBD do not appear to interact in the same way within this system. CBDA, according to researchers, impacts different enzymes and non-ECS receptors than its decarboxylated cousin cannabidiol.
CBDA has been demonstrated to interact with cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX enzymes). These enzymes, among other things, are responsible for the production of prostaglandins, which are lipid molecules that cause inflammation.
CBDA inhibits the production of COX-2 enzymes selectively, comparable to nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDs) such as aspirin and ibuprofen. CBDA’s inhibitory effects were demonstrated to be significantly more strong than CBD and THC; cannabinoids are also known for their potent anti-inflammatory qualities.
Anxiety Relief with CBDA Bulk
According to current studies, cannabidiol and cannabidiolic acid may have a significant impact on anxiety and depression symptoms. Despite the fact that much of the research into the anxiolytic potential of plant-based cannabinoids has focused on cannabidiol, studies comparing the effects of CBD and CBDA are quite illuminating.
Researchers conducted a light-dark emergence test on rats to investigate the effects of CBD, THC, and CBDA on anxiety reactions. This experiment was meant to quantify anxiety responses as the animals moved from darkness to a brightly lighted environment.
THC caused anxiety-like effects in test subjects during the initial phase of the investigation. During this phase of the study, CBDA and CBD had no effect on anxiety symptoms.
The second portion of the experiment, however, comprised administering a shock to the foot while the animals were subjected to the same light emergence test. While the foot shock increased anxiety in rats given THC, those given CBD or CBDA showed no signs of increased anxiety in response to the extra stressor.
The researchers found that the anxiolytic effects of CBD and CBDA may need the presence of a stressor, implying that both cannabinoids have the potential to manage anxiety associated with a specific trigger, such as public speaking or PTSD.
CBDA Treatment for Depression
In animal experiments, CBD and CBDA had similar positive effects on depressive symptoms. Although the benefits of CBD on depression symptoms have received more attention than the effects of CBDA, preliminary research indicates that both cannabinoids have a considerable affinity for a specific receptor involved in mood and emotion regulation, the 5-HT1A serotonin receptor.
According to research, CBD and CBDA operate similarly to a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI), a type of drug commonly used to assist relieve the symptoms of depression.
Many believe that cannabidiolic acid is significantly more appealing as an antidepressant because of its extraordinarily large affinity for 5-HT1A receptors, with one research claiming that “CBDA displays 100-fold stronger affinity for the 5-HT1A receptor…as compared to CBD.”
Evidence for a synthetic molecule with a comparable structure is as compelling. Researchers studied CBDA’s antidepressant qualities in animal trials using two models of depression in a 2018 study. Cannabidiolic acid methyl ester, a synthetic form of the cannabinoid, was utilized instead of plant-derived CBDA.
This synthetic version of CBDA reduced depression-like behaviors in test subjects by the end of the trial. While further research is needed to corroborate preliminary findings, current evidence suggests that CBDA holds great promise as a natural antidepressant.
CBDA as an Epilepsy Treatment
Cannabis plants’ antiseizure potential has long been studied by researchers. This research finally resulted in Epidiolex, the first FDA-approved drug containing CBD as an active component. GW Pharmaceuticals was obliged to do an extensive study using CBDA and CBD as prospective therapy alternatives in order to obtain FDA approval for the cannabinoid-based medicine for the treatment of epilepsy.
Their proprietary study showed that CBD and CBDA should be regarded as serious seizure therapy possibilities. While CBD was the cannabinoid that was approved as an active ingredient in the antiseizure medicine, you may be interested to hear that CBDA was demonstrated to be more effective than CBD at reducing and avoiding seizures, with researchers concluding that:
“In a mammalian model of epilepsy, CBDA exhibits anticonvulsant effects and is beneficial in treating generalized seizures, particularly tonic-clonic seizures.” Indeed, in many of the characteristics studied, this chemical appears to be more efficacious than CBD.”
CBDA has a higher bioavailability, which means it requires less time and effort for the body to metabolize. The assumption is that CBDA will have a quick onset, whilst CBD will have a long-lasting effect. It will be intriguing to see where further research takes us.
