ST. PETERSBURG, FL — It’s no secret that we’ve seen many original St. Pete businesses close down permanently during the pandemic while also seeing multiple construction zones for living towers in downtown St. Petersburg.
Worried that a local shop may have closed permanently when you’ve driven past it for a week and the doors haven’t opened. Or wondering when one of your favorite shops will reopen after its temporary COVID-19 closure.
A vintage shop, Artpool Gallery, is back open and keeping St. Pete real with its funky vibes and laid-back feel, owner Marina Williams told Patch.
Her husband, Evan Williams, is also glad to be helping shoppers find gifts during the holidays next door at the men’s side that has vintage suit blazers, old-school T-shirts, vintage records and art.

Marina and her mom, Becky Williams, closed the doors to the shop in March 2020 because in addition to COVID-19 precautions, they had a little person on the way–Naomi, who just turned one. Franklin the schnauzer, their shop dog, is also back at work and loves being a big brother, Marina said.
“We are doing cartwheels of joy, and we are thrilled to be rocking the shop and getting to see all of our artsy vintage loving pals,” Marina said. During their closure from March 2020 to August, they were still working five days a week. They wanted to keep the dream still going so they sold online via Facebook, Instagram and offered contactless pickup and shipping.

Becky said she is really enjoying being back helping people in the store. “It has been really special seeing our extended ART pool family and community,” she shared.
Marina said she loves the St. Pete community and has had so much fun catching up with regular customers and meeting new ones, too.

If you’re planning on doing some last-minute Christmas shopping at Artpool Gallery on Christmas Eve, masks are required and Becky or Marina will provide you with hand sanitizer after you arrive. They are open from 12-5 p.m. for Christmas Eve.
Artpool Gallery-Vintage Clothing Boutique & Vinyl Record Store is located at 2030 Central Avenue, St. Petersburg. They are closed Christmas Day through Dec. 28, and closed again Jan. 1 – 4.
