5. You will experience fewer disappointments
You have definitely decided to change your life since the New Year. You have set yourself a high bar. You have set about fulfilling your dream with all your zeal. And… you didn’t succeed, and January is ending.
A subscription to the gym has not been bought, bad habits are still with you, the most important project has not been started. This happens, especially if the celebration is delayed. You are upset, disappointed and reproach yourself for your lack of will.
Do we really have to wait for the next New Year to do everything right then for sure?

And finally, a few scientific observations. Back in 2007, psychologist Richard Wiseman from the University of Bristol interviewed 3,000 people who promised themselves to start changing their lives for the better from the New Year. And only 12% of them fulfilled their plans.
And another work published in the Journal of Clinical Psychology at the University of Scranton in 2018 showed that 30% of those who made New Year’s promises refuse them already in the second week of January.
See? No New Year’s magic.
So don’t be fooled. By itself, the New Year will not fulfill your desires if you do nothing. And if you are determined to act, it is better to start now and not wait for the weather by the sea.
