CLEVELAND — The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame announced the nominees for its 2022 class on Wednesday.
This year’s first-time nominees include Beck, Eminem, Duran Duran, Dolly Parton, Lionel Richie, Carly Simon and A Tribe Called Quest, among others. This is also Eminem’s first year of eligibility for induction.
“This year’s ballot recognizes a diverse group of incredible artists, each who has had a profound impact on the sound of youth culture,” said John Sykes, chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation. “Their music not only moved generations, but also influenced the sound of countless artists that followed.”
Fans can vote online, through the Rock Hall website, for the artists they think should be inducted this year. Votes can also be cast at the museum in Cleveland. The top five fan vote recipients will get a single vote toward induction.
“Nominee ballots are sent to an international voting body of more than 1,000 artists, historians, and members of the music industry,” the Rock Hall said in a news release. “Factors such as an artist’s musical influence on other artists, length and depth of career and the body of work, innovation, and superiority in style and technique are taken into consideration.”

Inductees will be announced in May.
To qualify for induction into the Rock Hall, artists must have released a commercial recording at least 25 years prior to the year of their nomination. Here are all the candidates for induction in 2022:
