We are all aware of the fact that we are living in a pandemic and this pandemic has definitely made the lives of everyone a lot harder. All of the basic daily life activities like going to schools, going grocery shopping, or even just going to visit friends were put on hold. Moving a property or even a house was totally out of the equation because restrictions were put down on a lot of things and moving necessarily did not come under the list of ‘important tasks to-do’.
With time the restrictions have eased a lot and people are starting to come back to their normal lives obviously by following the sops and the rules and regulations set up by the government. The moving companies are back in business and are starting to do residential removals, office removals in London, and even student removals. However, there are certain things which are to be kept in mind when you are moving an office.
1. Take care of the SOP’s:
This is the first thing which you should keep in your mind. Whilst moving, it is your duty that you take care of the SOP’s for your health as well as the health of your workers. Make sure that you wear a mask at all times and frequently sanitize your hands. Maintaining social distance with the workers would definitely be a plus. Do not make any sort of contact with the workers, if anything happens by accident then make sure you sanitize and make them sanitize as well.
2. Assign everyone the task of packing their desks:
You don’t want too many people gathered in the office at the same time. However, you do want the work to be done on the time. So the solution to this can be that you assign everyone the task of packing their own desks. They can come at their own desired times and pack everything in accordance with their convenience. In this way, not too many people would be gathered in the office at similar times but at the same time, the work would be getting done.
3. Using a flow management system would help:
Moving to a new office is a good opportunity in which you would be able to redesign your office by keeping in mind the safety of the employees. You can maintain social distancing between the employees in your new office by creating a safe office layout. You would be able to incorporate more entering and exiting routes in the office which will help in preventing cross-contamination. This will not only reduce the spread of Covid-19 but will also help in stopping the spread of seasonal viral infections like flu and cough.
4. Take care of the hygiene and add hygiene stations in the office:
It is the responsibility of employers to take care of the hygiene of their employees. So before moving into a new office make sure you thoroughly get it cleaned and disinfected. Another thing which can be done for taking care of the hygiene of the employees is by creating hygiene stations at different points in the office. A hygiene station can include a sanitizer, a mask, and even gloves. It will encourage the employees to sanitize their hands more often and will definitely help in the spread of the virus.
