BOSTON — Tom Brady, stop playing with our hearts.
Just six days after announcing his retirement, No. 12 left the door ajar to a comeback for the ages.
“I’m just gonna take things as they come,” Tom Brady said on Monday night’s “Let’s Go” podcast with Jim Gray and Larry Fitzgerald, according to NFL.com. “I think that’s the best way to put it and I don’t think anything, you know, you never say never. At the same time I know that I’m very, I feel very good about my decision. I don’t know how I’ll feel six months from now.”
Brady said his decision last Tuesday to step away from the game at 44 was what he thought was the best decision at the time, “but in the same time I think you have to be realistic that you never know what challenges there are gonna be in life.
Again, I loved playing. I’m looking forward to doing things other than playing. That’s as honest as I can be.”
Brady was speaking on the same program he one week earlier denied making a decision after ESPN reported he chose to retire.

He apparently made up his mind shortly after, posting a lengthy Instagram post last Tuesday morning saying he was stepping away from football. The quarterback said he isn’t able to be as committed to the game at this stage of his life.
