CRANFORD, NJ — With Cranford Public Schools transitioning to a “mask optional” policy beginning March 7, Patch asked readers whether they will allow their children to go maskless. Several Cranford parents responded.
Superintendent Dr. Scott Rubin announced last week that Cranford Schools will no longer require masks as of March 7. Based on the comments from a Facebook poll, the majority of readers told Patch they will allow their kids to attend school without a mask as of March 7.

Rubin’s announcement was made after Gov. Phil Murphy said the state mask mandate in public schools will be lifted and individual districts can decide whether they will keep the mandate or not.
Cranford’s Board of Education said last week that the remaining board meetings in February would require audience members to wear masks. Read more here.

“Yes. Should have been a choice for a while now. The inconsistencies of this policy have been ridiculous. Theater kids are masked on stage performing but wrestlers and basketball players don’t have to mask.
