Siddartha Gautama, known as Buddha was one of the greatest ancient philosophers who lived in India around the sixth century B.C. He founded Buddhism more than 2,500 years ago and millions are still following his religion today because his message is profound to this day.
In a world of influencers on social media, he is, without a doubt, one of the greatest influencers of all time along with other important figures.
Many people have no idea how to reflect on their own life because they’re busy with school, work, and life.
If the whole world applied Buddha’s teaching, we would live in peace and harmony with each other and be full of compassion for one another.
Being Compassionate towards fellow humans is a quality that I think everyone should develop in their life!
I will share five quotes by him that will change the way you think if you apply them wisely.
Here are some of them.
#1 “There are only two mistakes one can make along the road to truth; not going all the way, and not starting.”
I can tell you, it’s better to try and think “At least I did it.” than to never try and think “I wish I did it.”
The biggest mistake is never doing what you wanted to do because your family said so and or your friends think that it’s an unrealistic goal, that you can never achieve it.
You should never care about what anyone thinks about your journey, it’s your journey, no one else’s.
The second biggest mistake is giving up when you fail a few times in your journey to reach your goal. You’re only getting stronger and wiser when you keep going, facing challenges and failures.
“Your success is built on your failures” ~Shining_Star
The important thing is to stay consistent because you are always learning something valuable along the road to your dream. You should enjoy the journey.
How to apply.
Follow your heart and write down a list of things you’ve always wanted to do in your life, Yeah like a “Bucket-wish list”. Maybe you have always wanted to learn a new language or see a specific country, go for it.
It doesn’t matter how many obstacles you will face, as long as you keep going ahead.
We are never really ready for anything so you may as well just start now and learn through the process of it.
This is how you start doing what you love.
#2 “What you think you create, what you feel you attract, what you imagine you become.”
Whatever the mind thinks, it becomes real. Your mind is the most powerful tool you have.
Your thoughts are the results of who you have become today and the world is always a reflection of how you think and feel inside.
You’re manifesting all the time, but you’re unaware of it. You don’t have to consume more negativity and turn them into a fact. Every thought is an affirmation and your dominant thoughts become a reflection of your life.
It also means you have to purge out the negative emotions instead of holding them inside, so you can feel better. If you need to cry out, do it. I do it as well.
You will feel much better after getting up again from feeling defeated.
Just dust yourself off and try again.
“Only those who dare to fail greatly can ever achieve greatly.”
How to apply.
Start by writing some simple affirmations for your specific goal that is easy and simple.
You don’t have to force yourself to feel anything, it will naturally come when you imagine what it’s like to have your desire accomplished.
Always be aware of how you think and feel. The fear is good at convincing us how miserable life is, it’s only for you to redirect and say “That is not true, life is beautiful.” — This is a powerful attitude.
Never let anyone influence how you think and feel about yourself. You shouldn’t let people’s limited beliefs change how you think.
If you love writing, write down all the things you love about yourself and your life. Feed more focus on the blessings and less on the darkness.
What I love to do every single morning is write in my Journal, “5 things I am grateful for that day.”
It is refreshing to start the day with positive gratitude and affirmations!
You should try it too! 🙂
#3 “The trouble is you think you have time.”
I wish we could live forever on this Earth but there comes a day when you have to say goodbye and leave.
Ignorant people assume they’re immortal in this life but the truth is we all are eventually gonna die unless, of course, some genius invents a Long-Living Med or Something!
The important part is, that you live your life peacefully, and without any regrets.
How to apply.
You have to ask yourself, “Am I living my life to the fullest?”
If Yes Awesome, continue living the way you currently are!
If No, then Right Now, you got to alter it!
Ask yourself, “What will make my life complete and full?”
Look for the missing piece, and alter it eventually! Remember, Never fear death but fear a wasted life.
Go Confront your fears and get out of your comfort zone if you want to grow and evolve.
Make each of your days more meaningful by doing what you love the most.
