1 Erik Ten Hag Asks Manchester United to Sign Young French Striker
More and more names of players are being asked by the new manager Erik ten Hag for Manchester United to bring in the 2022 summer transfer market. Now Ten Hag and MU are being linked with young French League striker Hugo Ekitike from Reims.
Ekitike is only 19 years old. But his great talent made many big European clubs try to hijack him from Reims. Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Newcastle United, Bayern Munich to West Ham United have had a crush on Ekitike.
ESPN reports that MU is ready to heat up the competition for the French Under-21 player in the summer of 2022. MU is eyeing Ekitike because Ten Hag needs at least two or three new strikers.
Erik Ten Hag looks at many strikers because Manchester United is in danger of being left by Edinson Cavani and Cristiano Ronaldo at the end of the season. Plus Marcus Rashford’s lackluster performance this season.
Hugo Ekitike is considered suitable as a striker for Manchester United next season. The price is also relatively still cheap. Reims is said to be ready to release him worth 13 million pounds.
In the 2021/2022 season, Ekitike performed brilliantly by contributing nine goals from 21 matches in Ligue 1. However, since last February, Ekitike has been sidelined due to a hamstring injury.
In addition to Ekitike, Ten Hag will reportedly also recruit a high-priced striker. The four candidates are Erling Haaland (Borussia Dortmund), Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur), Lautaro Martinez (Inter Milan) and Darwin Nunez from Benfica.
In addition to exorbitant strikers, MU has also been linked with several second-class strikers whose prices are slightly cheaper. Starting from Sebastien Haller from Ajax Amsterdam, Alexander Isak (Real Sociedad) Richarlison (Everton) to Armando Broja (Southampton).
Even though Ronaldo left at the end of the season, Ten Hag could not bring in two expensive strikers at once. MU’s Dutch budget in the summer of 2022 still has to be divided to bring in new midfielders and defenders.
2. Chelsea finally gets a new owner, sales money donated by Abramovich
After going through a winding road, Chelsea will finally have a new owner. The Blues on Saturday (7/5/2022) confirmed that an agreement had been reached for the acquisition of the club by a new ownership group, led by Todd Boehly, Clearlake Capital, Mark Walter and Hansjoerg Wyss.
Chelsea was previously owned by Russian tycoon Roman Abramovich. But Abramovich was forced to sell Chelsea due to the impact of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Abramovich is considered close to Russian President Vladimir Putin. In order to pressure Russia to stop the war, the British government imposed sanctions on Abramovich in the form of an asset freeze which had an impact on Chelsea.
As a result of these sanctions, Abramovich immediately resigned from Chelsea. Abramovich was also then forced to sell Chelsea. After several investors were interested, Chelsea would eventually fall into the hands of Todd Boehly, Clearlake Capital, Mark Walter and Hansjoerg Wyss.
To get Chelsea, Boehly and his friends had to pour large funds of up to 2.5 billion pounds to buy club shares. All proceeds from the sale of the club will be donated by Abramovich.
“Of the total investment made, this Chelsea share purchase money will be deposited into a frozen UK bank account with the aim of donating 100% to charitable causes as confirmed by Roman Abramovich. UK Government approval will be required for the transfer of funds from a frozen UK bank account, ” said Chelsea’s official statement.
The entry of a new owner will not reduce the strength of Chelsea. Boehly has committed to inject 1.75 billion pounds into further investment in the interests of the club.
These funds will be used to invest in Stamford Bridge, the Academy, the Women’s Team and Kingsmeadow and continue funding for the Chelsea Foundation.
The sale of Chelsea to Boehly cs is expected to be complete at the end of May 2021.
Chelsea fans hope the change of owner will not affect the team’s performance. Under Abramovich’s ownership, Chelsea was a huge success. They have won the Champions League twice.
Abramovich has been known to spend a lot of money so that Chelsea can sign high-priced star players.
