Totally Accurate Battlegrounds is a funhouse mirror version of famous Battle Royale shooters like Fortnite and PUBG — which is refreshing when we’re besieged with new, serious attempts to cash in on the king of popular game formats every waking hour. Every other day, a new Battle Royale is unveiled, and none of them are as casually odd and amazing as TAB.
Instead of tight controls and competitive balance, TAB is all about the absurd. You’re a wobbly physics character in a wobbly physics environment. Your guns aren’t even capable of aiming. Instead of parachuting to the ground, you leap out of a flying bus headfirst. When you’re exchanging fire in the fields between creatively named locations like ‘Crappy Castle,’ standing upright can be a challenge — and to help you get a full understanding of this completely ludicrous game, here are 10 secrets, strategies, tips, and fixes you probably should know before diving in.
#1: Use the G key to aim like a gangsta
First and foremost, let’s get the most vital point out of the way. To start shooting with the coolest-of-the-cool grips, press [G] to tilt your weapon. What’s the point if you can’t shoot your opponents with style?

#2: Use Shotgun Jumping to gain access to high ground
You’ve probably noticed all of TAB’s bendy, weird physics. With a shotgun — or a minigun — you can take advantage of the floaty physics engine. Basically, any powerful gun will launch your shaky character into the sky. Rocket Jumps aren’t necessary here. All you need to launch into the skies are gun jumps. Also? There was no fall damage.
#3: Don’t forget to use Full Auto!
Anyone who’s played PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds understands what I’m talking about: when you pick up a weapon, any weapon, it’s set to the default single-shot mode. That is not acceptable. Check your controls and make sure you know how to switch to full-auto mode so you can rain bullets down on your foes. In TAB, the goal is to find suckers.
#4: Fighting up close and personal is the best way to win
Aiming is overrated due to the strange mechanics, quick bullet drop, and awful recoil with every weapon. Getting near to the action is the greatest way to win. If you play for even a little period, you’ll observe idiots shooting at you from all over the map. They’ll never hit you unless they’re extremely unlucky. Simply zig-zag up to those thugs and discharge SMG shots into their faces.
#5: Have you been waiting forever to get into the game? Change your region
TAB’s popularity skyrocketed over the weekend, and it’s only growing. If you’re stuck and want to join a game but can’t, there are a few tactics you can attempt, including shifting regions. Change the server in the top-left corner to US 1, US 2, US 3, and so on. Simply keep exchanging to see if you can join. It’s also a good idea to clear the main menu – press [Esc] to bypass the opening intro.
