Academy Award-winning filmmaker Chris Williams returns with a new story in his first animated film as a solo director, The Sea Beast.
Being one of Netflix Animation’s original animated projects, the film premieres on Netflix on July 8, 2022.
The Sea Beast tells the story of a girl named Masie Brumble (Zaris-Angel Hator) who loves monster hunters and sneaks into The Inevitable, a ship with a legendary crew.
Previously, The Sea Beast has been screened in selected theaters in the United States and Canada on June 24, 2022. Until this screening, the response received for this film is quite positive.
In addition to being produced by Netflix Animation, The Sea Beast also receives animation services from Sony Pictures Imageworks, an animation studio that has worked on several well-known projects, including Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and The Mitchells vs. The Machines.

Synopsis of Animated Film The Sea Beast (2022):
As a young man, Jacob Holland (Karl Urban) lost his parents to a sea monster attack.
He is then raised by Captain Crow (Jared Harris), a monster hunter and leader of the ship The Inevitable. From then on, Jacob fought against the monstrous creature into adulthood.
The names The Inevitable, Captain Crow and Jacob Holland are familiar to everyone in this city. An 11-year-old girl named Masie Brumble (Zaris-Angel Hator) also idolizes the crew.
He himself had a close relationship with monster hunting considering his parents also worked in that field.
Acquiring the blood of a hunter, the girl goes to Jacob in a tavern to volunteer as a monster hunter. Unfortunately, the man refused Masie’s wishes.
After the incident, Captain Crow and his crew set out to kill a dangerous monster. On the way, they were surprised by the presence of Masie sneaking in.
